September 9 - October 19

Texas A&M AgriLife Fall beekeeping classes are now open for registration.

Fall Beekeeping 101: This course is offered both in person and as a virtual, self-paced course. It covers the basics of beekeeping, from what to purchase, where to purchase it, how to set up your apiary, what to expect, and what time commitment you need to be successful. This class is geared toward those with little to no experience with beekeeping. The bonus of this course is a hands-on field day inside a hive! Put on a bee suit, open a hive, find the queen, and do some beekeeping maintenance and diagnosis. For more information and to register for either option click here.

Second Steps in Beekeeping – Beekeeping 201 Virtual Program: This program is geared for beekeepers coming up on their first or second winter of beekeeping and wondering “what’s next?” This three-session virtual class will cover the next steps for having a successful apiary including:

When to combine hives,
How to split in Spring,
How to check and treat for Varroa mites,
Honey extracting and
Much more!

All sessions will be recorded for later viewing. For more information and to register for the virtual class click here.
