The Alamo Area Beekeepers Association recently presented a series of classes at the San Antonio Botanical Garden to introduce would-be beekeepers to the joys and hard realities of maintaining a colony of honey bees, be it one hive or a hundred.
Interest in the class came at no surprise to the association’s president, Rob Holliday, who said membership in the group has spiked over the past two years.
